Therapies from Yorkshire Yoga
I have a lifelong interest in Natural Medicine and a thirst for knowledge which has led me to study constantly for the last thirty years and to learn from some of the best teachers in their field – practicing Yoga for over 30 years and studying for The British Wheel Teacher qualification in 2004 and influenced strongly by Erich Schiffmann and Vanda Scaravelli. Studying Chinese Medicine at the highly respected Shulan College in Manchester and inspired by Rob Aspell of Xian Tian School & Dr Tang,
Thai Massage with The International College of Shanghai, and Acupuncture with the amazing teachers Berni Nolan and Prof Jong Baik. I also include Herbs, Nutrition and Flower Essences as part of a whole healing picture. I am also an Instructor in Quantum Touch Energy Medicine and studied Kinesiology Muscle Taping & Support with the renowned Scottish Football Physio Dave Jenkins.
I am still studying every day and continually updating my knowledge – a lifelong journey. My passion is to be able to help people live their best, relaxed, healthy and pain free lives.
I am now qualified in Hypnotherapy training with Dr Karen Wells and specialising in helping people with anxiety related issues.

Therapies On Offer
Tuina Medical Massage
Tui Na, (pronounced “twee na”) is a deep tissue, therapeutic massage, and is a fundamental part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), along with Acupuncture, Herbs, Cupping, Moxa & Qi Gong. Tui Na is used in many hospitals in China as the first choice of healthcare.
Tui Na follows the TCM theory that injury or disease causes blockages in the channels of the body. Blockages cause pain. Working along the meridians stimulate the bodies own healing system and restores energy & blood flow to the painful area – which is good news for pain relief, injury & sports performance.
For Tuina you remain fully clothed – unless oils are being used.
Acupuncture – been around for thousands of years and is still a most popular holistic therapy to move stagnation and blockage – and bring balance to the body. It works by stimulating the body at specific points using a very fine sterile needle ( usually totally painless) has been shown in many trials to reduce pain. Acupuncture be used effectively for PAIN, Injury, rehabilitation. Relaxation & Muscular tension.

(you may have seen the Olympic swimmers with the round marks on their backs) Extremely effective negative pressure massage assisting speedy healing and repair. Helping to move pain and stagnation and bring new blood to the area.
Gua Sha is a massage using a specially shaped crystal tool – we use Rose Quartz & Jade- this really gets into the tight areas and releases the muscles – effectively bringing new blood to the area for any tissue/muscle repairs needed.
Cupping & Gua Sha are great partners for Acupuncture – giving us a multi therapy approach to healing and wellness.

Bach Flower Essences
The Flower Essences were developed in the 1930s by Dr Edward Bach, a physician and homeopath who believed that the key to good health was underpinned by emotional harmony. By 1936 he identified 38 flower essences, in 7 groupings & each one derived from a different wild flower, plant or tree, and each corresponding to a specific emotion. The Essences – a complete system, capture the positive potential from each of the plants and can be taken together to meet our individual needs. We have used them for over 20 years and find them to be gentle but a very powerful aid to feeling our best.
