Mother & Baby Yoga classes offer relaxing and rejuvenating sessions especially designed for post-partum mummies and their new babies. Our aim is always to guide and help you adjust your exercise routine to include your new baby and grow in confidence as you exercise together. We always offer a class where baby is never left to one side and is an integral part of your sessions and your new life as a mum. The classes last around an hour and involve gentle yoga stretches and postures to aid recovery post birth, to increase flexibility and stamina and to restore integrity to the spine, the core and the pelvic floor and always at a pace that suits you and your baby. We even include some baby yoga too. This promotes a sense of wellbeing, whilst soothing and bonding for you and baby. Yoga provides a wonderful resource for you and your baby that allows you to deal more positively with the life changes that motherhood brings, dealing more positively with stress and encouraging mindful relaxation and self-care . Which can so easily be over looked with new motherhood.
At the end of each class, there’s the opportunity to take time to reflect on our practice, drink tea, eat biscuits and chat with each other in our 1stfloor kitchen area. No yoga experience required and you’re welcome to join after your 6-8 week GP check-up. Or 10 weeks post Section Birth. We have all the equipment you’ll need, just bring a blanket and a toy for baby, water to drink and a sense of humour. Our classes are fun and friendly and we look forward to welcoming you to The Yorkshire Yoga and Therapy Centre. Give us a call to register your interest or with any questions you may have.
